How it works

How asseverazione works

Asseverazione is the oath by which the translator declares, before the Court clerk, that the translation is faithful to the original. This step is what gives the translation legal value in Italy.

From request to a valid document, in 4 steps

  • You send us a photo or scan of the document via WhatsApp or email: we give you a quote and timing, no obligation.
  • A registered translator translates the document with the precision required in legal settings.
  • The translator swears to the fidelity of the translation before the clerk: this is the asseverazione.
  • You receive the sworn file; if you need it abroad we add legalization or apostille.

Sworn, asseverata, certified: the differences

Sworn and 'asseverata' are synonyms: they involve the oath in Court and thus legal value. A certified translation is merely a declaration of conformity by the translator, without an oath: it may suffice for some uses but does not equal asseverazione.

What the sworn file contains

The file contains the original document (or a copy), the translation and the oath record with a stamp where due. The pages are bound and stamped: they must not be separated.
