Sworn translation of the criminal record certificate

A sworn translation of the criminal record certificate (criminal record, pending charges) is often required for international procedures. We translate the document and swear to its fidelity in Court.

It is needed for visas and residence permits, hiring, tenders, citizenship procedures, adoptions and registration with professional boards.

When you need a sworn translation of the criminal record certificate

The criminal record certificate (and pending charges) is required in many work and immigration procedures. When it must be valid in another language or country, a sworn translation is needed:

  • Hiring and competitions, especially in healthcare, education and security.
  • Visas and residence permits and immigration procedures.
  • Citizenship and regularisation.
  • International adoptions and fostering.
  • Registration with professional boards and registers.
  • Tenders and public contracts requiring good standing.

Criminal record and pending charges: mind the expiry

The criminal record certificate and the pending-charges certificate are required for visas, hiring, tenders, citizenship and adoptions. The detail that most often slips by is the validity period: many bodies accept the certificate only if recent, usually within 3–6 months of issue. That's why we plan the timing with you, so the translation arrives when you need it and not when the document has already expired.

If the certificate must be valid abroad we arrange the apostille after the swearing-in; if instead it comes from abroad, we tell you whether it should be apostilled at origin before translation. Also available in Romanian and Russian.
