Sworn translation of residence and family status certificate
A sworn translation of the residence certificate (and family-status certificate) is needed when you must prove where you live or your household composition in another country. We translate it and swear to its fidelity in Court.
It is required for citizenship and reunification procedures, family benefits, school enrolment, consular procedures and many procedures abroad.
When you need a sworn translation of the residence certificate
The residence and family-status certificates prove where you live and with whom — documents often required in international procedures. When to translate them:
- Citizenship and family reunification.
- Benefits and family allowances, in Italy or abroad.
- School enrolment of children.
- Consular and tax procedures with another country.
- Succession and asset matters where the household matters.
What to prepare and attach
- A clear photo or scan of the certificate, with stamps.
- Any apostille already affixed, if the document is foreign.
- The intended use (citizenship, school, foreign body).
Delivery time
For a registry certificate we usually deliver within 5 working days of confirmation.
Stamp duty
Stamp duty normally applies, except in cases of exemption provided by law: for some registry uses exemption may apply — we check together.
Validity abroad
If the translated certificate must be valid abroad we add the apostille or legalisation after the sworn translation.
