When you need a sworn translation of the residence certificate

The residence and family-status certificates prove where you live and with whom — documents often required in international procedures. When to translate them:

• Citizenship and family reunification.
• Benefits and family allowances, in Italy or abroad.
• School enrolment of children.
• Consular and tax procedures with another country.
• Succession and asset matters where the household matters.

What to prepare and attach

• A clear photo or scan of the certificate, with stamps.
• Any apostille already affixed, if the document is foreign.
• The intended use (citizenship, school, foreign body).

Delivery time

For a registry certificate we usually deliver within 5 working days of confirmation.

Stamp duty

Stamp duty normally applies, except in cases of exemption provided by law: for some registry uses exemption may apply — we check together.

Validity abroad

If the translated certificate must be valid abroad we add the apostille or legalisation after the sworn translation.
