When you need a sworn translation of the qualification

Diplomas, degrees and certificates must be translated and sworn to be recognised by universities, employers and professional bodies. The most common cases:

• Recognition of the qualification (declaration of value, equivalence).
• University enrolment or a postgraduate programme.
• Public competitions and selections requiring the qualification.
• Professional licensing and registration with boards or registers.
• Hiring and employment contracts, in Italy or abroad.
• Study or work visas and immigration procedures.

From diploma to recognition: what you really need

Translating a qualification is often the first step of a wider recognition process. Besides the diploma or degree, the supplement and the list of exams (the transcript) frequently need translating too, because universities, professional boards and employers assess the whole path. We take care of academic terminology and the correspondence between qualification names and grading systems.

Where required, we also guide you on the Declaration of Value and on equivalence or recognition procedures (for example through the CIMEA centres), so you know in advance which documents to prepare and avoid wasted trips between offices and consulates.

What to prepare and attach

• A clear scan of the qualification (and any supplement/transcript or list of exams).
• Any apostille or Declaration of Value, if you already have it.

Delivery time

Timing depends on the number of pages (e.g. study plans and exam lists). We give an estimate as soon as we see the documents.

Stamp duty

Stamp duty normally applies, except for exemptions provided by law. We state the amount in the quote.

Validity abroad

For abroad we arrange apostille or legalization; for Italy we guide you on the Declaration of Value and recognition procedures (e.g. CIMEA) where required.
